課程概述 |
This group of 3 courses (Tropical Cyclone-Ocean Interaction I, II, III)
is designed in response to NTU’s call for level-3, specialized courses on
cutting-edge research. It aims to equip students with advanced knowledge
on the field of tropical cyclone-ocean interaction and with a holistic
perspective. Each course can be independently offered or be ‘mixed and
matched like Lego blocks’, depending on the situation. Each course will
be completed in 3-5 weeks (e.g., ~4 sessions/week), so that students can
learn quickly and move forward.
The first course, Tropical Cyclone-Ocean Interaction I, is an
introductory course which will equip student with basic knowledge of the
field, as well as guiding them towards the advanced issues offered in II
and III. The 2nd course, Tropical Cyclone-Ocean Interaction II is an
advanced course builds upon the foundation of I, but extend to important
issues such as climate variability (e.g. ENSO, La Nina), global warming,
and biogeochemical/carbon cycling. The 3rd course, Tropical
Cyclone-Ocean Interaction III, is also an advanced course, but with
emphasis on practical training, to equip student on conducting research
using modern observation and modeling tools (e.g. Argo floats, satellite
altimetry, ocean mixed layer model....). |
